Vietnam: Mountain Road

Hello,

The Vietnam adventure continues ...up a winding mountain trail.



The view up there is just spectaculatastically, superfragiliciousitaneously like very very ultra um.. good.

Just look at it(try and ignore the dot in the middle of the first picture).


..I know you are looking at the dot.



Travelling in a mini-van around the small towns peppering the landscape, you feel shielded from the real Vietnam. Its like watching TV. The windows of the van no more than just a screen showing the pretty pictures with no commercials. You dont get the warmth of the the sunshine, the smell of the golden harvests or the feeling of the virgin mountain breeze threading through your hair. Kinda like looking at pictures of a blog, or reading a blog entry about someone. Its entertainment without involvement. Touring without travelling. Existence without fufilment.

As such, in our attempt to elevate to a higher philosophical plane, we rented a scooter. Oh yes. We rented a scooter. One scooter, to be exact.

At that instant, Vietnam came alive.





Incidently, we got the lady above to take a picture of us on the scooter.

Vietnam: The Beginning


Hello,

Its long overdued, but as the saying goes, good things are worth waiting for. Here are some photos I took during a recent, or rather..semi-recent, trip to Danang, Vietnam. I'm splitting up the photo diarrohea into smaller, more digestable(yes I see the irony) parts for your enjoyment.

First, let me introduce my posse, mother ng, father ng and sista ng. Here pictured in their respective moments of glory.
